The Research Lab for Musical Iconography and the course “Music Iconography in Ancient Greece” in the School of Fine Arts AUTH
The Research Lab for Musical Iconography – AUTh assists undergraduate students of musical iconography in the School of Music Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, who have chosen to deliver a paper as part of their exam in the course “Musical Iconography in Ancient Greece” taught by professor Alexandra Goulaki-Voutira. Students have visited Research Lab and searched the digital database MITOS for material relevant to their paper. Their research subjects pertain to the representation of figures and themes from ancient Greek mythology such as Orpheus, Heracles or the Musical Competition of Apollo and Marsyas, as well as different facets of music life such as the music accompaniment of athletic training and competition.
